SEIU Local 1 new agenda

Mayor Emanuel recently awarded the cleaning contract at O’Hare to United Maintenance, a company with ties to organized crime that plans to cut wages and benefits. More than 300 airport workers who have family-sustaining jobs with benefits may lose their jobs and be forced to rely on taxpayer-funded assistance programs right before Christmas. Chicago’s middle class has all but disappeared. With poverty and crime increasing, this is the time for our Mayor to create good jobs – not eliminate them.
